Congenital chylous ascites : a case report

Congenital chylous ascites (CCA) is a rare disease. It's usually related to inadequate lymph drainage secondary to the abnormal development of the intra-abdominal lymphatic duct. Medical treatment based on total parenteral nutrition, medium chain triglyceride (MCT) based diet and octreotide. Surgery is recommended in failed medical treatment. We report a case of CCA which improved with MCT-based diet and octreotide.Downloads
