REVUE MAGHRÉBINE DE PÉDIATRIE
INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS— Updated Edition 2025
1. SCOPE AND MISSION
The Revue Maghrébine de Pédiatrie (RMP) publishes peer-reviewed articles in French or English covering all fields of pediatrics, neonatology, and pediatric surgery.
The journal welcomes:
- Original research
- Clinical guidelines
- Narrative or systematic reviews
- Case reports and case-based “Case of the Day” formats
- Clinical images
- Letters to the editor
- Editorials (by invitation)
RMP aims to disseminate high-quality scientific knowledge relevant to clinicians, researchers, and trainees.
2. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
- Submission implies that all authors approve the final version and comply with ICMJE authorship criteria.
- The peer-review process is double-blind.
- Manuscripts must be submitted as Word files (.doc/.docx), Times New Roman 12 or Arial 11, double-spaced.
3. MANUSCRIPT COMPONENTS
3.1. Title Page
Submitted separately from the main manuscript.
Must include:
- Title in English and French (≤ 10 words, must include MeSH keywords)
- Full author names (maximum of 6, except multicenter studies)
- ORCID iDs (recommended)
- Single-line affiliations: University, Faculty, Postal code, Hospital, Department, Research unit, City, Country
- Corresponding author: email + phone number
- Funding sources
- Conflict-of-interest statements for each author
For case reports: written parental consent for publication is mandatory.
3.2. Abstract and Keywords
Required for all manuscripts except editorials, letters, clinical images, and historical notes.
Structured abstract (≤ 250 words):
Background – Objective – Methods – Results – Conclusion
Keywords: 3–6 MeSH terms, in English and French.
3.3. Main Text
Formatting depends on manuscript type:
- Original Research: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion (IMRAD)
- Clinical Guidelines: structured according to expert group
- Case Report: succinct narrative highlighting a clinical learning point
- Case of the Day: two separate short articles (observation + answer)
- Review: narrative or systematic, PRISMA-aligned when applicable
Maximum numbers: Tables: ≤ 6, Figures: ≤ 4
4. ETHICAL STANDARDS
Authors must comply with ICMJE and COPE guidelines.
Required statements:
- Conflict of interest declaration (mandatory)
- Funding sources
- Ethical approval for research involving humans
- Trial registration for clinical trials
- Parental consent for case reports and identifiable clinical images
5. USE OF GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
- Any use of AI tools (ChatGPT, image generators, LLMs) must be explicitly disclosed in both the cover letter and manuscript.
- AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
- Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of the text and figures.
- All manuscripts undergo anti-plagiarism screening; plagiarism > 20% is grounds for rejection.
6. FIGURES AND TABLES
- Figures must be high-resolution TIFF or JPEG files.
- Tables must be simple, with no internal grid lines, and submitted in a separate PDF.
- Images must not reveal patient identity (faces anonymized).
- Previously published material requires written permission.
7. REFERENCES
- Follow the Vancouver style.
- Numbered in order of appearance, using square brackets.
- Up to six authors listed; beyond that: et al.
8. PEER-REVIEW AND EDITORIAL PROCESS
- Two external reviewers minimum.
- Authors must respond point-by-point and highlight revisions in yellow.
- Revised manuscripts must be submitted within 4 weeks (extensions possible).
- Accepted articles proceed to proof stage; only minor corrections are allowed.
9. COPYRIGHT AND OPEN ACCESS POLICY
RMP publishes under Creative Commons CC BY-NC 4.0 licensing:
users may distribute, adapt, and build upon the work for non-commercial purposes with proper citation.
10. PUBLICATION CHARGES
Publication is free of charge.
