Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) in children: case report and review of the literature

Introduction: Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) in children is rare. The aim was to highlight the importance of early diagnosis and treatment to avoid sequelae. Observation: A 10-year-old girl was admitted with a meningeal syndrome, IIH and obesity. The fundus showed papilledema, and other tests were normal (MRI, CSF). She received methylprednisolone and acetazolamide. Progression was favourable. Conclusion: Early diagnosis and management are essential to avoid visual sequelae.Downloads
