Early onset neonatal sepsis, which occurs during the first 72 hours of life, is essentially bacterial and has a vertical mother-to-child transmission. The emergence of unusual germs may be observed especially in particular contexts of prolonged maternal hospitalization and/or prescription of broad-spectrum maternal antibiotic therapy. We herein report the cases of two newborns admitted to the intensive care unit for septic shock due to unusual germs. The bacteriological samples concluded to a bacteremia due to Raoutella terrigena in the first case and to Morganella morganii in the second case, allowing adapting the antibiotic therapy. The evolution was favorable in both cases.Downloads
