Epidemiology and clinical spectrum of COVID19 infection in a Tunisian pediatric population

Objective: describe epidemiological data, symptoms profiles and management of children with confirmed COVID19 and assess risk factors of fatal issue. 60 children included; 34 boys, 26 girls, median age 22 months. 10 patients died (16.6%). Comorbidities were found in 38.3% of cases. Most common symptoms: fever (75%), respiratory distress (68.3%), digestive signs (38.3%). Management: oxygen therapy (61.7%), mechanical ventilation (23.3%), antibiotics (95%), corticosteroids (51.7%), hydroxychloroquine (35%). Mortality risk factors: age < 1 year, comorbidities, need for mechanical ventilation.Downloads
