Abstract

Juvenile dermatomyositis is a rare systemic disease that affects the skin and muscles. We report the case of a 2-year-old girl hospitalized for management of an erythematous rash on the face. The diagnosis of dermatomyositis was posed in front of the lilac erythema of the face, the deficit of the proximal muscles, the elevation of the rate of the muscular enzymes, the diffuse myogenic attack in the EMG, the polymyositis in the MRI and the aspect from mitochondrial myopathy to muscle biopsy. After a one-year follow-up, the evolution was favorable.
