Introduction: Birth trauma is defined as injury to neonates resulting from mechanical forces during the process of birth. Methods: This was a descriptive retrospective study of newborn presenting with obstetric trauma admitted at the Neonatology department in Sousse Hospital between January 2016 and September 2018. Results: We reported 42 cases of obstetric trauma. The main clinical presentations were: neonatal brachial plexus palsy (38%), fracture of the clavicle (23.8%) and cranial trauma (7%). Conclusion: New-born obstetric trauma is relatively frequent. Systematic examination of newborn at birth should be a reliable mean for the detection and early management of this pathology.Downloads
