Subperiosteal orbital abscess complicating frontal sinusitis in a child

Introduction: The subperiosteal orbital abscess is rare in children, but potentially serious. Observation: A 14-year-old boy presented with a superolateral subperiosteal orbital abscess secondary to frontal sinusitis with painful exophthalmia and ophthalmoplegia. Surgical drainage and IV antibiotic therapy led to favorable outcome. Conclusion: Early diagnosis and adequate management are essential to avoid visual complications.Downloads
