An uncommon domestic accident: severe thermal burning in a neonate

Abstract

The burn in children represents 3 to 8% of domestic accidents. We report the case of a newborn admitted for severe and extensive burns (Burning surface 26% of which 7% of 3rd degree) after a domestic fire. Management was medico-surgical with favorable outcome after extubation on day 7, skin grafting and rehabilitation.
