Abstract

Childhood Idiopathic Nephrotic Syndrome affects 1 - 3 per 100,000 children per year. Almost 85% of cases will achieve complete remission with steroid therapy, however the disease can show a frequently relapsing steroid dependent or a steroid resistant course, requiring the use of alternative immunosuppressive agents. In this article we are going to summarize the new international recommendations for the diagnosis and management of idiopathic nephrotic syndrome in children.
