Un cas rare de méningite à Salmonelle chez un patient pédiatrique immunocompétent

Objective: to describe the clinical presentation and severity of salmonella meningitis in immunocompetent children. Patient and method: case report of a 7-month-old girl who presented with fever, seizures and altered consciousness. Result: The cause was salmonella meningitis. The major complication was a brain empyema requiring surgery. Despite treatment, the infant never regained full consciousness and died after fourteen days. Conclusion: Meningitis is among the rarest and most dangerous manifestations of salmonellosis. Neurological complications are frequent despite the usage of various and potent antibiotics.Téléchargements
