Abstract

Introduction: The worldwide is facing a new emerging pandemic of Covid 19. All ages are susceptible. However, the proportion of confirmed cases in children has been relatively small, with low risk of severe illness. This study aimed to evaluate epidemiological spectrum and clinical characteristics of children infected with SARS CoV 2. Methods: Retrospective descriptive study in the pediatric department of Farhat Hached Sousse during one year (March 2020 to March 2021). Result: SARS Cov 2 infection was confirmed in 48 children. The mean age was 4 years. The main symptoms were fever (79% of cases) and respiratory signs (31.2%). The outcomes were good for all our patients. Conclusion: Pediatric doctors must be vigilant face to COVID-19 pandemic.
