Megaloblastic anemia in infant: report of two cases

Abstract

We related two cases of vitamin B12 deficiency of infants (eight and ten months), exclusively breastfed admitted in pediatric service. Blood cell count showed neutropenia aregenerative macrocytic anemia and thrombocytopenia with megaloblastic bone marrow. Low Vit B12 level confirmed the diagnosis of megaloblastic anemia. Vit B12 supply lead to clinical and hematologic improvement.
